Taylor Greene: 'Joe Biden gets Laken Riley's beautiful name wrong'

U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) said that President Joe Biden referring to Laken Riley, an Augusta College nursing student killed by an illegal alien last month, as "Lincoln Riley" in his State of the Union address, showed "utter disrespect "

"Utter disrespect," Greene posted on X. "Joe Biden gets Laken Riley’s beautiful name wrong."

"Even when he tries to say it, he can’t," said Greene. "Absolutely unfit to be President."

Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student at Augusta University, was found murdered on February 22, 2024, after going for a jog at the University of Georgia campus. Jose Antonio Ibarra, a 26-year-old illegal alien from Venezuela, was charged in her murder. Riley had been killed by blunt force trauma to the head.

After Taylor Greene shouted, "Say her name!" during Biden's speech, the president paused, grabbed a "Say her name" button, and responded to Greene.

"Lincoln, Lincoln Riley, an innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal, that's right, but how many thousands of people being killed by legals?" said Biden.

Lincoln Riley is the 40-year-old, male, head football coach of the University of Southern California football team.

Taylor Greene was first elected to Georgia’s 14th congressional district in the 2020 General Election, defeating Democrat Kevin Van Ausdale by a vote of 74.7% to 25.3%. A native of Milledgeville, Ga. Taylor Greene graduated from the University of Georgia. She is co-owner of a construction company, founded a Crossfit gym, and currently resides in Rome.
